Science of Reading decodable readers and 1st grade decodable passages are PERFECT for small group reading activities. These OR ORE OAR decodable passages are SoR aligned AND include a year of printable and DIGITAL phonics booklets, passages, wordlist, and decoding assessments.

 

What are decodable readers?

Decodable passages and decodable readers are texts where the majority of the words are decodable–or can be sounded out. In these decodable texts, 80-90% of the words are decodable… either using the focus sound for the text or previous sounds already taught. The remaining 10-20% of the words are heart words or sight words that have been previously introduced or are introduced with the current text.
